I grew up in Texas where the rivers were warm, the fish were stubborn, and I learned early on that fly fishing and hunting were less hobbies and more lifestyle choices. If there was water to wade or brush to bust through, I was in it. That obsession eventually carried me west, where I spent 10 seasons guiding for WorldCast Anglers, turning other people’s fish stories into reality—often while standing knee-deep in cold water before sunrise.
After my guiding years, I traded waders for spreadsheets and ran a high-end fishing lodge for Eleven Experience. While the job involved less casting and more logistics, it deepened my appreciation for wild places, good rivers, and the quiet moments that happen between bites. Somewhere along the way, I realized it wasn’t just fishing I loved—it was the fish themselves. Their colors, shapes, and attitude stuck with me long after the rods were racked.
A couple winters ago, when the rivers froze and cabin fever set in, I picked up a paintbrush to stay sane. What started as simple watercolor studies quickly evolved into mixed media—watercolor and pen, and now Sharpie—because apparently I can’t leave well enough alone. My art is inspired by the fish I chase, the places I’ve been lucky enough to explore, and the belief that nature doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful (most trout certainly aren’t).
When I’m not hunting, fishing, or drawing fish instead of catching them, I’m spending time with my wife and three kids—usually explaining why Dad smells like river water or has paint on his hands. This site is where my worlds collide: art, angling, and a lifelong respect for the outdoors—with just enough humor to keep it honest.
